Nilagang Baboy

One of my daughter's favorite dish :) something I learned from my mom who is actually a great cook :)
**note that the recipe below is good for 4 persons only ** equals : the husband and I for our lunch and dinner :)

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kilo pork ribs
  • 1 medium sized onion (chopped)
  • 2 potatoes (cut into squares)
  • 1 small cabbage head (cut into four)
  • 1/8 kilo Baguio beans (around 15 pieces)
  • 1 pork bouillon cube
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • water
Procedure:
  • Thoroughly wash the pork ribs before putting it to stock pot with enough water to cover the meat, add on the chopped onions and a dash of salt, cover the pot and bring to boil in high heat.
  • After about 20 minutes of boiling (boil if the pork is not yet tender), add more water if desired.
  • When the meat is already tender, add on the potatoes, bouillon cube, pepper and salt (if still needed)
  • Boil for another 5 to 10 minutes, then add the cabbage and baguio beans, wait until it boils and turn off the heat. You wouldn't want to overcook your veggies, right? right.
  • Serve immediately with rice
  • ** you can also serve it with patis (fish sauce) with calamansi.
