Royal Icing

Of course after your cake or cupcake, you would need to make an icing for toppers right? so let me share with you the recipe for royal icing using egg whites.


Ingredients:

  • 2 large egg whites

  • 3 cups confectioners sugar, sifted.

  • pinch of salt

Procedure:
  • In a large bowl beat the egg whites until foamy.
  • Carefully add the sifted powdered sugar and beat on low speed until combined and smooth
  • Add the food color according to desired tint of the icing you will need.
  • Immediately use the icing by placing it in the piping bag for decorating

Chocolate Cuppies

Before I do my research for an online college, let me start my recipe/food blog, let me share with you the KP Creations Cupcake recipe. Actually, my business partner Paula is the one responsible for the baking, what am I good at? well, I do the decorating! so you'll also be seeing recipes and procedures to do sugar icing next! :)

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk

Procedure:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a muffin pan with paper liners, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa and salt.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk and beat well.
  • Fill the muffin cups 3/4 full
  • Bake for 17 - 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  • Let it still in the pan for another 5 minutes before removing, frost with icing when it's already cool enough.
