Hong Kong Day 1 - Food Galore.

As promised, here's our food experience during our Hong Kong trip last month. Sorry for the super delayed post, finally I was able to find time to seat down and yes, blog some personal posts (again!). Anyways, here's another post about our Breakfast with the Character stint at Disneyland Hotel. And since this is my official foodie blog, let me share with you our Day 1 food experience.
As advised by friends who also came from Hong Kong, we brought along some light snacks like Ensaymada from Goldilocks since the airline doesn't provide anything - though they offer food at quite expensive price, so there, that's what we had during the flight since it's not a crime to bring your own baon naman and I was not not surprise to see most of the people on the plane have their own baon too!
Anyways, since we are an hour early for the boarding and was a bit sleepy the husband offered to buy me a mocha ice blended (though I asked for an over ice coffee! lol) nevertheless, it was a good boost! :D

Now let's jump to what's we had and we had our lunch at Hong Kong... initially, I told the husband that we should try Cafe de Coral, unfortunately I got so confused with the restaurant's location and with a cranky/famished partner, I let him choose whatever looks inviting in the area, and there.. we found ourselves at a Japanese restaurant called Kanamizu Sushi! I wonder what made him chose that place, probably because of the nice door chime at the entrance!

And in all fairness, their prices are very affordable! probably the reason why the place is quite crowded with the locals.

And here's what we had...

Every meal comes with a miso soup and an appetizer which until now is unknown to us! but it was really good :D the husband said that it was something seafood with a hint of ginger sauce.

This is what the husband had, Crab Roi and Assorted Sashimi Rice set - which we got surprised to see that they offer very huge serving per meal! it can be shared by two persons already. Unfortunately, I don't eat raw fish, so the husband made pilit to finish his bowl of sashimi :D

And here's what my daughter and I shared, Deep Fried Pork Chop served with Soft Egg Rice Set.. that I truly like! delicious and the pork - cook just right! It was also my first time to try the soft egg-something and it was good too! dear daughter also love the dish, himala!
And before I forget, every meal comes with a free hot tea which also serves as the official drink at the restaurant, it was a subtle kind of tea so we also liked it, perfect after a hefty meal!

Now let's jump again to another beverage that we tried at Ocean Park.. Fruity Snow Cone ( flavored crushed ice with real fruit bits). Very refreshing specially when it's really hot and humid, we didn't even found ourselves hungry just thirsty, every so often! Thank goodness, I brought along 2 big water bottles, so we were replenished - for free! :D

Dear daughter loves the snow cone to bits, priced at hk$28 and can be bought at kiosks around the park.

Fast forward after our Ocean Park tour, We had late snack at Mc Donald's Admiralty while we waited for my online friend Caryl- she lives in HK together with her family, sosyal! :D

Funny how we chose to dine at Mc Donald's, maybe because we were too tired from the whole day of walk at the park, and one thing that came close to us the moment we alight the bus is this fast food chain.. so there ;)

So my friend Caryl and I had our first time personal encounter, she toured us from one place to another and brought us to this food court where different cuisines are being offered..
The husband chose to buy his food at a Korean restaurant kiosk

and had this, Kimchi-noodle-soup-something (forgot the name, sorry) that he and dear daughter shared, yes she likes spicy foods and noodles too!

Meanwhile, Caryl bought this oyster (or was is octopus?! gosh, limot queen is my name!) balls. Very delicious, new to our taste buds!

Also, Caryl bought different Mango snacks for us.. again, I forgot the names, pudding-like delicacies that are truly yummo!

And lastly, Caryl's very adorable and sweet son asked her mom to buy a Mango Sago drink for Olin.. sweet no? :D The only thing is, dearest daughter didn't liked the drink much - so the mom (it's me, who else) had a great mango fest!

So there, these are what we had at day 1. Will write another food trips during our HK stay on my next blog posts...
