puregold shopping
Was finally able to try and shop at the newly opened Puregold supermarket near our place earlier this evening. And as expected, their prices are quite cheaper compare to other major supermarkets and groceries, specially the cigar prices are way too low that's why small store businesses prefer buying in bulk there. Plus the fact that they have complete range of everything even accessories, clothing and appliances too! Wide variety of food stalls to choose from too, a must try after a tiring stroll along the aisles of goodies!
Aside from that, what we like best from the newly build mall-type supermarket is that they also have other shops inside and arcade too! The little brat was truly at her happiest when we let her play from one game to another and yes, she even won a jackpot from one of the game machine which made her a 200 tickets richer in minutes! :D

chilling
Indeed, the weather is getting colder as the days go by. And with that, my usual order of an iced caramel macchiato is now being replaced by hot served one, to basically warm me up from the cold breeze of Tagaytay. You see, aside from our usual work abroad hunts and even banking jobs available, going out and spending more time with my two is what we often do… because we never know when will the husband be required to report again to his agency and schedule his departure again. That is why, having Tagaytay to be the nearest place to chill out, we often find ourselves lounging and chilling there on weekends :D

my love to shoot
Aside from food photography, I also love taking snaps of structures like old and new houses, landscapes, steel buildings, nature and people. Basically, I love to take pictures of everything and anything that strikes my fancy. And hopefully, in God’s time… I’d be able to pursue my long-time-dream of becoming a phenomenal photographer! So please, bear with my photo posting er, photo overloading on each of my blogs because it’s only where I can showcase my outputs to my audiences…. online :D

buffet dinner date
Whew. Our weekend was a blast! Finally, my friends and I together with our families were able to push through our buffet dinner plan. And thankfully, we were able to have a reservation as the place becomes filled with diners and those who came a minute or two late from the restaurant’s opening ended up waiting! So anyways, I’d be making another post on our Yakimix dinner together with photos that I was able to snap before, during and after our dinner… would you believe, there were tweeners who came in their somewhat-prom dresses-gowns during the dinner?! Something that made us all awe! :D
Anyways, will be posting another story on our dinner date sometime this week :D

tips on freezing food
Here is a guide to how long you can freeze foods before you sacrifice quality. Keep in mind that quality does deteriorate the longer food sits in your freezer, so aim to defrost sooner rather than later.
- Bacon: 1 to 2 months
- Breads: 2 to 3 months
- Casseroles: 2 to 3 months
- Cooked beef and pork: 2 to 3 months
- Cooked poultry: 4 months
- Cookie dough: 3 months
- Fruit: 8 to 12 months
- Frozen dinners: 3 to 4 months
- Hot dogs: 1 to 2 months
- Lunch meats: 1 to 2 months
- Sausage: 1 to 2 months
- Soups and stews: 2 to 3 months
- Uncooked chicken (parts): 9 months
- Uncooked chicken (whole): 1 year
- Uncooked steaks, chops, or roasts: 4 to 12 months
- Uncooked ground meat: 3 to 4 months
- Vegetables: 8 to 12 months
Basic tips for freezing food:
- Freeze foods as close to purchase (or harvest if you have a garden) as possible. The fresher food is when you freeze it, the better the quality when you defrost it.
- While most foods can be frozen, there are some foods you should keep out of the freezer. Don't freeze canned foods or eggs in shells (which can crack and allow bacteria to enter). Technically you can freeze mayonnaise, cream sauce, and lettuce, but the quality takes a big hit. Here's a list of foods that don't freeze well with details on their condition after thawing.
- Cool cooked foods down before freezing so they freeze faster, which helps preserve quality.
- Packaging matters and varies depending on what you're freezing. If you choose glass over plastic containers, wrap, or bags, you'll need to make sure it's tempered so it doesn't break.
- You can freeze meat in its original packaging, but if you want to store it for long periods of time, add an additional layer of packaging, such as plastic wrap or bags.
- It's always a good idea to label items so you know what they are and how long they've been in the freezer.
- Resist the temptation to defrost foods on your countertop. The three safest ways to thaw foods are in your fridge, in cold water, and in the microwave.
How to freeze fresh produce:
- The key to freezing fresh fruit is to spread out the cleaned, dried, and prepared (cut up) pieces of fruit on cookie sheets. Once the individual pieces of fruit are frozen, you can combine and put in freezer bags. Some people prefer to pack fruits in sugar or sugar syrup to help preserve texture and flavor. The National Center for Home Food Preservation has tips on how to freeze specific fruits such as strawberries, tomatoes, peaches, and many more.
- Vegetables usually need to be blanched (boiled or steamed for a short time) before freezing to maintain flavor, color, and texture. Blanching times vary depending on the vegetable. The National Center for Home Food Preservation has a chart with blanching times for everything from corn to collard greens and simple instructions for how to freeze a large variety of vegetables.

do you know….
that ASPARAGUS …
Back in the 19th century, bridegrooms were usually given three courses of asparagus in the hope that the vegetable would help them consummate their marriage. This vegetable, as it turns out, wasn't just an aphrodisiac for its suggestive shape, but it is also packed with vitamin E, which gives production of sex hormones for both male and female a little oomph.
