- Salmon salad on a bed of greens: Drain canned salmon and mash with minced onion and low-fat mayo. Serve over a bed of salad greens and any other veggies you like (carrots, cucumber, radishes, bell peppers, tomatoes, celery, you name it).
- Mexican wrap: Stuff a whole grain tortilla with canned black beans (rinsed and drained), shredded reduced-fat cheese, chopped tomato, shredded lettuce, salsa, and optional reduced-fat sour cream and scallions.
- Gazpacho with shrimp: Make a cold gazpacho soup by blending together ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, onion, garlic, fresh herbs, and desired seasonings in a blender or food processor. Top your bowl with cold, precooked shrimp to add protein and make it a complete meal.
- Hummus plate: Assemble a tray with homemade or store-bought hummus, veggies for dipping (baby carrots, celery, bell pepper sticks, and cucumber slices all offer delicious crunch), and whole grain crackers or pita triangles. Round out your plate with some grapes or other fruit and perhaps a handful of heart-healthy olives.
- Turkey, roasted red pepper, and feta sandwich: To make a delicious sandwich spread, whisk together 1 cup feta cheese crumbles with ¼ cup reduced-fat sour cream or nonfat Greek yogurt, dried or fresh oregano or basil, and black pepper. Smear a few tablespoons on two slices of whole grain bread, and top with sliced turkey breast, jarred roasted red peppers, lettuce, and onion to make a sensational sandwich.
- Peanut butter-strawberry pizza: Run your knife around the outside of a whole wheat pita to split it into two circles. Spread each circle with about a tablespoon of natural peanut butter and sprinkle with sliced strawberries (sliced bananas and other berries taste great, too). Serve your "pizza" with nonfat yogurt or cottage cheese on the side to bump up the protein factor.
- Greek chopped salad: Combine diced tomato, cucumber, and red onion with a can of drained and rinsed chickpeas. Add in some "light" red wine vinaigrette dressing (or whisk up your own) and toss to coat.
- English muffin with lox and the works: Toast a whole grain English muffin and spread both sides lightly with reduced-fat cream cheese. Top each half with lox, sliced tomato and onion, and optional capers. Enjoy with sliced melon or other fresh fruit on the side.
- Black bean salad: Mix together canned black beans (rinsed and drained), corn kernels (fresh off the cob or thawed from frozen), cubed avocado, and scallions. Make a simple vinaigrette by whisking together lime juice and zest, olive oil, and minced cilantro.
- Curry chicken salad wrap: Pick up a rotisserie chicken at the store, remove the skin, and shred the meat (or, used canned chicken breast). Combine with diced red onion and celery, halved red grapes, reduced-fat mayo, and curry powder. Stuff it into a whole grain wrap, or mound it atop a mixed green salad.

bout to a slimmer body
Mom noticed how I gained weight during the past few weeks and it's bothering her already because of the fast phasing of things and all. She said that if I didn't do anything about this, I might end up as size as her! So I probably should take apidexin and really take care of my weight as soon as possible. Though when I checked my weight it is still on my size/height limit but already above the average. So there, the need to let go of the carbohydrates must be implemented and sugary stuff too! Oh man, I wonder how long will I able to control myself in order to get fit!

relaxed back
Just got back from the spa where I had my body scrub and whole body massage. It was indeed relaxing, especially when we just got back from our short trip that practically made my whole body ache to death. But then again, I realized that I should check out those office furniture supplies and see if there's something affordable for me to catch like small office table or even a cheap office chair so I wouldn't have to worry on my un-relax back from working in front of my computer. So there, learned also today that I need to have my posture be corrected as soon as possible so I wouldn't get a hump or improper posture too.

CNA Training Programs
A friend just mentioned on her FB status about her passing this cna training to become a certified nursing assistant in the US. Which makes her very much in demand to hospitals and centers looking out for passers of the said training. Also aside from having immediate work, she can now earn a lot of money compared to her previous work when she is still not taking the said training. Which I think must also be considered by other aspiring nursing assistants all over the world for them to be competitive in the said field. So for those who are interested, you can checkout CNA Board and learn more about their training offerings!

blogging somewhere
Guess where am I? here at SM mall of Asia. Quite far from where we live and me blogging here is kind of odd, find it weird too you know. But then again, the husband asked me to accompany him since he'll be seeing his friends for their weekly old schooler meet ups every Friday, and now they decided to held their meet up here. Anyways, since I'm still on my quest for some ways to get rid of stomach fat, here I am salivating over the handful of restaurants still in this area.. so just to pass through this growling stomach, I decided to grab a frozen yogurt topped with mango bits, photo of that is yet to post. So there, good thing there are still some healthy food stalls very much available for dieters like me! :D

new dish request
The husband has been asking me to cook a new dish for our Sunday lunch. But the thing is, I'm not too sure if I can do that. Being used to cooking the most common dishes there is, experimenting is not merely my thing. Probably because I'm afraid to fail and turned down after my beloved ones tried it. Anyways, I'm currently searching online for easy to make dishes that will hopefully make my family love when they get to taste. But what's weird is upon searching online, is when I stumble upon eczema treatments being lined up with some suggested dishes on the search site! Really, it icky! don't you think so too?!
Oh well, internet can be so weird at times.

meet up tomorrow with the girls!
Guess what, yours truly will be going out tomorrow! u-huh. It's my day off, and me and my friends will be going out to see SATC2! and of course, we are gonna have our most awaited eating time at a certain restaurant one of my friends has been suggesting for so long now, where we'll gonna have a grand time talking about all stuff we can think of. And oh, I'd probably ask them about this adult acne that I think has been enjoying it's stay on my right cheek! argh.
So there, gotta finish all my other pending tasks before I hit the sack for some beauty rest... power blogging in two hours it is!

coffee and dessert
Last night, the husband and I decided to hit the nearby coffee shop in the city and just chill out. Then I remember my balikbayan friend who happens to live close to the shop, calls him and immediately he arrives, and there, the three of us spends a good couple of hours chatting and making fun of the things around us. And yes, we also talk about some serious issues too, from his hunt for the cheapest car insurance to his vow to help a certain batch mate of ours that happens to be needing financial assistance.
Actually, this is our second meet up since he arrived and to some reason we can't tell, we still haven't got a picture together! thus making us no proof that we already hang out. But I was able to snap my yummy dessert and coffee right after it was served :D
And what did I had? mt.apo sized caramelatte and strawberry graham cheesecake! :D

me time
Thank heavens for a 'me' time (shopping time) that the husband gave me yesterday when we were at the mall. The thing is, he let me do my thing while he went to see a friend at a nearby coffee shop. So there, was able to snag a few personal things like wrinkle cream, toner, some pens, a nice floral shirt and a belt! A lot easy to do, shop I mean, when there's no one tagging along your side right!? Though there are times when I wish he was with me so I can ask him which to get, but then again, it's still me who decide. So, fair enough.
And oh, was also able to grab a whole lot of snack items from the snacks area! read: chocolate and chips! woot!

asian or non asian?!
Oh, not talking about dishes here this time. Talking about emoticons that we use when we chat and send emails online. We all know how people like us are super dependent on using these funny characters to show our emotions right? and so someone from tumblr made something to differentiate how we can type our emoticons according to our blood line. So there, I know it's pretty cool right?! if only we can use these cute little things forever and not show ourselves to those we chat with anonymously, then we wouldn't have to worry on putting face wrinkle cream
to make sure we look stunning as ever before the real meet! :D
